Prof. William Tong's (www.rohan.sdsu.edu/~tong) invention revolutionizes spectroscopy and provides more than the sensitivity required for state-of-the-art analytical methodology.

His novel multi-photon optical methods based on laser wave mixing and dynamic laser grating offer many advantages compared to conventional optical methods. These simple compact and robust systems offer excellent detection sensitivity and high chemical selectivity with many potential applications.
